Waikiki surf lessons with Hawaii Surf Guru
Hawaii Surf Guru Surf School runs surf lessons at the Ala Wai Boat Harbor recreation area near Waikiki. Owner and instructor Nathan Kimo Chung is a local waterman. Lessons focus on reading the break, paddling with the flow, and getting you standing with less wasted energy.
We are state-licensed (permit 20-237858), lifeguard and AED certified.
Choose your lesson
Private surf lesson — $175
One-on-one, 90 minutes. Best if you want full attention or are outside the Early Bird format.
Semi-private — $137.50
90 minutes for 2 people.
Private group — $125
90 minutes for 3 or more.
Private kids lesson — $175
90 minutes for ages 13 and under only.
Early Bird beginner group — $100
Morning beginner group lesson (about 1 instructor per 4 students; may combine; not private). Under 14 cannot join Early Bird. Details and booking: /early-bird
SUP lessons
Private, semi-private, and group stand-up paddle options are in the same FareHarbor book flow.

Lesson times
Daily: 7:00–8:30 or 9:00–10:30, when conditions are usually best and crowds are lighter. Closed Sundays.
